This is an opportunity to meet with your practitioner, receive all information regarding treatment options specific to you and ask questions in order for you to make an informed choice. ​What is Botulinum Toxin?
Commonly referred to as "Botox' this prescription only medication is used for the purpose of cosmetic treatments and derived from botulinum toxin, which temporarily reduces muscle activity in order to improve appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is commonly used on areas such as the forehead, around the eyes, and between the eyebrows but can be also used in many other areas. The procedure is quick and minimally invasive, often requiring no downtime for recovery. Results typically last for several months, making a popular choice for individuals seeking a refreshed and youthful appearance. Maintenance and repeat treatments are usually required approximately every 3-4 months but may be longer in some instances.
Risks & Side effects​
More common side effects may include small bruising, redness and swelling at the site of injection which resolve within a short space of time.
Potential risks may result in allergic reaction, muscle weakness in adjacent non targeted muscles resulting in asymmetry or a heavy appearance such as the eye or brow. These side effects or complications will generally resolve given time and are relatively rare occurrences.

What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable gels used to restore volume, add support and give fullness to your features. They are commonly made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body known to help maintain moisture and elasticity and can be used in various treatment areas, including the lips, cheeks and temples. The treatment is generally quick, with minimal downtime, allowing patients to see immediate results.
Risks & Side effects
Common side effects include potential for bruising, redness, swelling and mild discomfort which will all settle in a relatively short space of time.
Potential risks of infection, allergic reaction, lumps & bumps, asymmetry and vascular compromise are uncommon however can be managed usually by our prescribing practitioners with experience and training in complications management.
Advice which is both verbal and written will be issued in order to manage and recognise any of the above however if there are any concerns we do hope you feel confident to contact us for further advice and if required may ask you to return to clinic for assessment and management.
These treatments require an initial assessment and consultation appointment to establish suitability. these treatments are not however suitable for those with certain medical conditions, pregnant or nursing mothers or those under the age of 18.
Skin Treatments

A skin consultation is recommended to assess and discuss your options which may also suit your skin type and budget. We use only the very best in skin innovation such as the award winning Profhilo, Sunekos, AlumierMD, Fillmed Laboratoires, Dermapen Microneedling. Meso therapy “cocktails” using specialist serums.
We can also remove minor skin imperfections such as skin tags.

Medical Weight Management

At The Platinum Clinic we have been offering our Medical weight management service since 2018. With the abundance of services such as online pharmacies and non medical practitioners, it may be daunting, confusing deciding which service is right for you. Our Nurse Practitioner is a prescriber with almost 20 years addictions experience and skills in behaviour change models. There are no quick fixes in life and does require additional changes to lifestyle to be made however this option can be an incredible useful tool towards successful weight loss and reduce associated health risks obesity brings. This treatment requires a full assessment of suitability before any prescribing can occur. If you have tried and failed with more conventional weightloss methods, have a BMI of 27+ with co-morbidities or BMI over 30 you may meet the criteria as an option. You will require to attend clinic for face to face consultation and regular review appointments as standard.
Vitamin Supplements

Vitamin supplementation, particularly with B12 and Vitamin D, can offer significant benefits. Those on certain medication, during peri/menopause, over 60, certain ethic groups and those follow a vegan or vegetarian diet may benefit from additional supplementation. Benefits are known to include an increase in energy levels, improvement in mood and memory and general physical and emotional wellbeing. B12 vitamins may be sourced from mainly meat products but as above some individuals may not receive enough or have absorption issues. Vit D is an available source via sunlight however some do experience absorption issues and retention of acceptable levels..
Hayfever Treatment

Hayfever treatment using a steroid medication called Kenalog can significantly reduce the symptoms caused by seasonal allergies. It should only be considered as a last resort having exhausted all other over the counter and prescribed options from your GP. It is given as an intramuscular injection in the outer aspect of the buttock. An assessment to ensure your suitable is required before prescribing and administration by our Nurse Practitioner.
